Maritime commerce has always been a part of New Orleans. We have an active maritime and admiralty practice, representing clients in state and federal courts in Louisiana and throughout the Gulf Coast Region. Our clients include oil and oil field service companies; offshore vessel operators; and tug, barge and ocean-going vessel owner and operators. We have handled claims involving personal injury at sea, on navigable waters, or while working in harbor; collisions; cargo; limitation of liability; vessel seizures; vessel mortgages; tugs and towage; and marine insurance. We also represent clients in contract negotiations for shipping cargo and in resolving issues that result from performance of those contracts and have extensive expertise in the requirements of the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
