Amelia L. Hurt

Ms. Amelia Hurt joined the litigation section Sher Garner Cahill Richter Klein & Hilbert, L.L.C. in 2019.  She practices in the areas of commercial litigation and commercial bankruptcy and has represented clients at both the trial and appellate levels.  In 2011, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Louisiana State University, and in 2014, she graduated cum laude from the Paul M. Heberet Law Center.  While in law school, Amelia served on the editorial board of Louisiana Law Review and interned for the Hon. Harlin Hale of United States Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of Texas.  After graduation, Amelia clerked for two years for the Hon. Craig Gargotta of the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Texas.  Prior to joining the firm, Amelia represented various debtors, trustees, and creditors in complex chapter 11 cases and related litigation and appeals.  Amelia has authored publications in the Louisiana Law Review, the Federal Lawyer, the IEL Energy Dispach, as well as preparing and presenting CLE materials at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting and Louisiana State University Bankruptcy Seminar.
