    On March 12, 2013, Elwood Cahill and Alvin Miester will speak at the Half Moon Seminar titled “Land Boundaries and Access Rights.” Pertinent discussion topics will include review of surveys and legal descriptions, acquisitive prescription statutes and jurisprudence and boundary action procedure and practice. This seminar will be held at the Hyatt Place Convention Center at 881 Convention Center Boulevard in New Orleans.

  • Leopold Z. Sher recently spoke on the subject of legal issues arising out of the expropriation of hundreds of properties taken by the State of Louisiana to make way for the multibillion dollar construction of the new Charity Hospital and the new VA Hospital in the Mid City area of New Orleans. The speech was part of a panel program called The Louisiana Land Grab: A Public Taking presented at the CLE of Louisiana conference held in Puerto Rico in July, 2011.
